… or a small software overview
With version 5 Edwin Soft has added a clear Dashboard to its software and so cleaned up the interface. All functions are now easily accessible and clear. The screen is divided into the following areas:
- left column – with a project overview and the email function,
- top line – with the functions for this post and
- center – the area of the dashboard

The Dashboard
The dashboard is automatically loaded with the launch of the software. It is divided into five areas: the top status bar, which gives an overview of recently modified, updated and added pages. Just below this area there are 4 tabs with the following description, from left to right: User Guides and Training Videos, Scheduled Tasks, Announcement and Support Ticket. Depending on the user behavior of the software one or the other tab is more or less important. Interesting are all four.
User Guides and Training Videos
Especially if you are still a novice in the use of the software, but also experienced users of social bookmarking in general should take a look in this particular section. If you click on this tab you can select multiple PDF files: An Operation Guide, which describes how to use the software, or an Ultimate Guide as a comprehensive reference book, tips and reference to Bookmarking Demon. As the title suggests, the tab houses also extensive training videos which are worth watching. The individual videos cover all the chapters to deal with Bookmarking Demon. It is clearly explained how to create new projects, emails accounts are configured, social bookmarking accounts can be created or the ping and scheduler function can be used. These videos are worth a look.
Scheduled Tasks
With the use the calendar function of Bookmarking Demon you can delegate tasks to a specific date and time. You only have to specify what will happen and when. The scheduling function is very sophisticated. If tasks are scheduled you’ll get them listed in the calendar overview on the dashboard and instantly see what will happen soon.
Announcements
As the name suggests you will find the announcement of version changes, improvements, etc. of the producer Edwin Soft right here.
Support Ticket
In the unlikely case that the pdf guides and training videos wont help you can request a support ticket from Edwin Soft. To do so please click on the support ticket tab. Here you will find a FAQ with the most common problem and most important the ticket system. If you’ll need help you can request a ticket and describe your problem. The guys from Bookmarking Demon guarantee a feedback and a solution of the problem within 24 hours of posting! Who does not believe this statement I recommend just try it out.
The function line
The number of symbols at the top of the screen shows the various functions of Bookmarking Demon. The order from left to right corresponds to the process which one goes through when you want to bookmark his website. These functions will be explained in detail in a later post.
The left column
The column on the left side is divided into two sections and houses important features of Bookmarking Demon 5. In this column you can find the e-mail function and you can manage your different projects.
For this to be said first that since version 5, the bookmarks can be put together into individual projects. A single project contains and manages the linked web sites and stores the data for the project. For different website projects often with different topics now a single BMD project can be created for each topic. This function very much creates an order within the bookmarking lists and makes the handling of the software much more convenient. I have created for example for each website project of mine a Bookmarking Demon project. If you click on New you create a new project, under management these can be edited. You can also simply remove projects. Caution, if you click on remove all data of this project will be lost!
The second function of this column is the e-mail function. In Bookmarking Demon is a simple e-mail client installed, which allows you to collect emails from any mail account. This is a very handy feature to create your social bookmarking accounts (such as on Digg) and download their confirmation mail. These will then be compiled and automatically worked off. It works like this: If you create accounts on social bookmarking websites, whether by hand or by BMD does not matter, you get an email with a link to confirm your account. Bookmarking Demon can automatically process such e-mails so you’ll save a heck of work clicking on many many links which is annoying.
